Videogame arcades in China

not just for funzies
These are video game arcades for those with true grit.  Expertly crafted to fuel a passion for cigarette smoke, street fighter clones and discarded cabinets.

They're also generally abandoned, with never more than one or two people shouldered over a machine.

Except for the back corner, which is always humming.

This is where the 'fishing game' resides.  A table top game that allows 6 players to blast away at sea life while competing for the highest score.
Of course this is about more than just points. Hundreds of $$$ trade hands here on an hourly basis. Players cash in with an attendee who then adds credits to their spot on the machine. Unrelenting tapping quickly follows in a process designed to circumvent gambling restrictions.
When players have had their fill, they cash back out with the attendee.  Filming is a definite no-go here so I only managed a few seconds of faceless footage.
